In the jadeite tradition, there is a saying that the stone and the wearer shape each other over time. Whether this is chemistry, ritual, or simply the quiet discipline of caring for something beautiful, the effect is real: a piece of jadeite, worn daily, becomes a companion rather than an ornament. Jadeite is exceptionally tough, but it is a natural material. A few considered gestures will ensure it remains in fine condition for the years ahead.
Daily Wear
Jadeite is exceptionally tough and can be worn with confidence every day. Three things to avoid:
Chemicals — Perfume, hairspray, household cleaners, and chlorinated water will dull the polish over time. Put jadeite on last, and take it off first.
Heat — Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, saunas, or open flame can draw moisture from the stone and dull its surface.
Impact — A hard knock against a surface can create internal fractures invisible to the eye. Remove your jewel before sport, heavy work, or any moment where the stone may meet a hard surface.
Cleaning
Your jadeite jewellery should be cleaned regularly:
Light wipe — Use a soft, lint-free cloth lightly dampened with plain water.
Thorough cleaning — Mix a drop of pH-neutral mild soap with lukewarm water. Gently brush with a soft toothbrush, rinse thoroughly, then pat dry with a soft, lint-free cloth. Do not soak for extended periods.
Important: Jadeite cannot withstand ultrasonic cleaning. Never use ultrasonic cleaners or steam cleaners.

Storage
When not worn, each jewel should rest in its own SÈVE jewellery box, away from other pieces. Storing jewels individually prevents scratches and preserves the polish.
Chains — Fasten clasps and lay flat to avoid knots.
Environment — Store in a cool, stable place, away from windowsills and radiators.
